Never Gonna Die

In case you were concerned, I’m still alive and kickin’. I haven’t had much opportunity to get on the Internet in the past month (which isn’t anything new) but when I have I guess I haven’t felt very inclined to post on here. That should all be changing soon. We finally can order Internet for our barracks so whenever my roommate gets around to ordering it (we’re going to share a cable connection and use WiFi), I’ll be able to get online from my room.
In other news, I start Phase 1 of the Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC, don’t ask me why but it’s pronounced Bee-Knock) tomorrow and so will get to have another two-week break (sort of) from my regular duties. It’s here on Ft Riley and I won’t be sequestered in any 50-men-to-a-room barracks so it won’t be that big of a deal and I was informed by my captain that I’ll still be expected to update my bi-weekly briefing slides (no big deal).
Socially, things are much better than they had been. Jake and the rest of the guys and I are much closer than before and Jake and his girlfriend broke up so it looks like we’ll be able to just be boys for a while and have fun and be stress free. Elle is now just a lingering distraction in the back of my mind (’cuz we all know it takes me years to give up on things anyway so why not her too?) and there are some very wonderful things going on for me now anyways so hopefully picking at that scab won’t be fun anymore.
I suppose that’s about all for now. I PROMISE my posting will get more regular once again. Just a short time lull.
