The Things You Read in Strangers Journals
I happened to be looking at the livejournal of a friend of a friend and she said something in there that was a realization like a basesball bat straight to the teeth: “Am friends with a guy, he wants more. I say I just want to be friends (not even, but I feel bad for him), he keeps pushing…and getting mad at me for no reason all the damn time. We're nothing, he has no right to be jealous and make me feel bad.” Talk about saying the stuff you defy all logic to convince yourself doesn't describe you.
AT at Ft Riley was good. Good enough to make me reconsider hard-core volunteering to go down there. There are a number of people who strongly suggest I should, the most important of whom being LTC Hildebrand, MAJ George, and MSG Heckart. Also we can add some more firsts to my list now, the most striking being drinking with my commander. How many junior enlisted soldiers ever, ever drink with their company commander? Probably more than I realize but not very many at all.
I'd like to keep talking but it's time to sleep so I'm functional tomorrow morning (haha holy cow, as opposed to this morning).
